THE VERMONT WEATHER BOOK by David Ludlum (Vermont Historical Society, 1996) lists the following Historic Weather Events for July 24:

July 24, 1830
Heavy rain caused high flood; 3.85" at Burlington on 24th, 7" fell from 24th to 26th; Winooski River went on rampage.
